April was busy.
The Electrum Archive
The biggest thing I worked on last month was finishing the second TEA zine. The PDF of it is now available on BackerKit, and I’m really proud of how it turned out. Ava and I worked hard on it and I think it shows. The zine is filled with interesting details about Titan Port and it’s inhabitants, and contains two really solid adventures. I’m especially proud of how it complements the first issue by diving more into a single area and providing more table ready material to play through.
In addition to finishing up the PDF of the second issue, I published version 1.4 of issue 01. This new update overhauled the travel procedure to the new one I’ve been using over the last half year and is used in issue 02. The free rules have also been updated to reflect this change.
This new procedure streamlines traveling in TEA to make it more internally consistent and create a little more drama. The old system differentiated between journeys of days and weeks to keep the number of rolls manageable. This new system, instead of rolling for each day/week, just rolls to see how many days pass before anything noteworthy happens.
Interestingly, the same day as I released these updates, Questing Beast came out with his review of Issue 01. This was a pleasant surprise :)
DURF Expanded
Over on my Patreon, I updated the draft of DURF Expanded to version 0.9. This new version introduced some simple rules for recruiting, equipping and commanding warbands.
Odds & Ends
I woke up last week with a pretty serious toothache. So after going to the dentist the next day, it turns out I’m grinding my teeth in my sleep. This is probably due to stress and puts too much force on one of my molars. Causing it to hurt and potentially break in the future if I don’t relax more. So, after releasing the PDF of TEA 02 to the Kickstarter Backers, I’ve tried to take it a bit slow last week. One of the ways I tried to do that is spend some time working on my vegetable garden. It was sunny for a few days last week and I used those days to dig out part of the grass patch in my backyard to make a bed to plant my seedlings in later.
Another thing I’ve been doing last month is reading through Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky together with my partner, and I have been really enjoying it. It has a good combination of an interesting sci-fi concept and characters that are a joy to read about. I highly recommend it.
That’s it for now, thank you for reading and stay safe!
